Looked like another good day with a ssw and as I have the second cold this month I once again headed over to Levington as was not up to an open sea session. With Maeva coming I headed over to the marina around 10.30 so I could get back to see her and with the cross on wind gusting over 25 knots I rigged my 4.7 with Chris Stephens coming for his first session of the year, finning with 5m with Andy M winging, Micheal G and Robert foiling with 4m. We were having a chat when we got a spell of rain which messed up the wind briefly but that cleared and I headed out, it was not as good as Wednesday, the 4.7 was ok in the gusts but the wind was patchy and I would have been better with my 5.2 or even the 5.5. I did try beating towards the docks but the wind was not constant enough for the small sail so stayed in front of the marina getting a few OK runs up towards Pin Mill making some OK speeds, breaking 20 knots a few times and getting some good gybes. I did hit a submerged mooring bouy hard and was lucky not to break something! I still managed to sail over 26 miles despite the up and down wind, then home to have an hour with the lovely Maeva.
Then at 5 I drove down to Felixstowe Ferry for an hour for the Grand Opening of the curiosity kiosk, an old red phone box that features some of my photos and had a nice time:)
